LKSR is open to all ages and works with the students of local universities, high schools, vocational schools, and after-school programs. LKSR is the only race of this kind in New England, and not only expands the artistic diversity of Lowell, but reinforces it as a hub of innovation.

CREATING A TEAM.
Steering Pilot (16yrs+)
Steering Pilots help steer the sculpture and must have a valid Driver License.
Pit (12yrs+)
Pit crew assists the pilots in transforming the vehicle for the various elements and fixing mechanical issues.
Pedaling Pilot (14yrs+)
Minions (12yrs+)
Pedaling Pilots help pedal the sculpture.
Support crew (minions), well, they do whatever is needed for the team to get glory.
Adults! (over 18)
There must be an actual adult on the machine or traveling with your sculpture whenever it is on the course.
Participants (under 18)
All participants under 18 must wear a bike helmet while on the course.
Barnacles (12yrs+)
For optional additional valuable advantages, non-powering humans can be carried aboard on a specially designed “seat” and may essentially be a “passenger” throughout the entire course. Must be at least 100lbs.
